I enjoy attending my friends’ university convocation, where of course my friends are graduating from. I don’t mind taking the trouble to be there, unless with exception that it’s at somewhere really far away or if I really couldn’t make it, because I like being there even if my presence is just..well, another person being there. Whenever I attend a convocation, I feel as though I’m surrounded by an air of happiness – same goes for wedding ceremonies or dinners.
This morning, I was at UNITEN Bangi with Ewen and Andrina for our brother Ong’s convocation. The joker I knew since secondary school is now a bloody Finance degree graduate! (eh Ong, betul kah Finance? Ke degree tidur sokmo dalam kelas? Hahaha!). It’s funny how swiftly time flew by us and all those fun and crazy times spent during our secondary school years are now mere memories.
Not exactly funny cos it does sound sad.
Anyway, this morning we managed to find our way to the Dewan Seri Sarjana, where the convocation ceremony was at, not after spending some time wandering around on foot. The campus is pretty huge. Lots and lots of people were there – family members, relatives, friends. Indeed, people mountain people sea.
It was an overcast morning but we were lucky it didn’t rain heavily, only slight drizzle. However, the weather didn’t manage to take away all the beautiful smiles on the graduates’ faces. Yes, the place was super packed and crowded with soooo many people but still, I believe it was one of their happiest moments in life.
I’ve mentioned to close friends of mine how I enjoy being at a friend’s convocation. Not only I get to show that I actually care, but more importantly, as a friend, I truly am happy for you on such an auspicious day of your life.
Congratulations again, Abang Ong :)
