That S.O.B
It was my first football game on the pitch in 2012 and I was just getting my first touch on the ball before I got challenge for the ball from the opposing team player.
Project 366: #2 That SOB!!
I hope he falls in a drain and break a tooth or something. *@&#^%$(@!!!
Definition: SOB (n. Vulgar): A son of a bitch.
Happy New Year!!

Sorry, this is kind of late. But still, Happy New Year!!
I spent the last few hours of 2011 waiting for the New Year fireworks at Marina Bay, Singapore; and the first 8 minutes of 2012 viewing one of the most spectacular fireworks displays whilst capturing images of it. It was awesome.
I have not summed up my 2011 in a blog post and have yet to declare my 2012 New Year Resolutions (though I intend to purchase a 24-inch wide screen monitor with probably resolution of 1920×1080), but there’s one thing that I’ve decided. Many have heard about the Project 365, where one posts up an image a day for 365 days. The images could be random or be related to one’s life, friends or family. So, I’m jumping on the bandwagon too! :)
Starting today, I’ll be posting up an image a day (or at times, I might schedule or backdate them, depending on my free time) on this humble blog of mine; and by the end of the year, I’ll spend some time going through what I have actually achieved the whole year. If I don’t have enough time to do that daily, I might accumulate the images (up to 7 days) and post them up weekly. There are other commitments too.
This post/image shall be the first piece of my Project 366 (because 2012 is a leap year! Haha!).
Project 366: #1 Fireworks at Marina Bay New Year Countdown, Singapore.
Again, Happy New Year! :)
Nike We Run KL 10K 2011–My Virgin Run

Latest update: Nike Running Malaysia just released the official results of the Nike We Run KL 10K 2011!! I’m ranked at #1144 and my nett time is 1 hour 10 minutes 12 seconds. Way to go, Stevo! *pats self on back* Next challenge will be the Rakan Muda Puma Open 10K in Cyberjaya on December 17!!
Update 2: Aaaaaannnnnnnndd I think I know who that cute chick is already lolol! Feels so jakun! :x
———————————————
It was my first ever big running event and I must tell you this: it felt freaking awesome!!

After being in my New Year wish list for a few years, I’ve finally gotten a pair of Nike LunarFly 2. And since I missed out on the first Nike We Run KL 10K event last year, I didn’t hesitate a bit to sign up for this year’s Nike We Run KL.

On the night before the Nike We Run KL, I figured that I didn’t have transport to get to Padang Merbok, KL all the way from Cyberjaya, nor do I have a buddy who knows the exact location. So, I lent my housemate’s car before I tweeted Chapree, whom I eventually went to Padang Merbok with.

Chapree – my running buddy for Nike We Run KL 10K 2011
We parked the car at the Dataran Merdeka car park, and walked to Padang Merbok which is less than five minutes walk away. There were a lot of participants there already when we arrived. God knows how excited I was. And to be honest, I actually slept for only a little more than two hours the night before the run and I’m not proud of it.
I was afraid that I might actually faint while running!

But of course I didn’t faint half way. That’d be really embarrassing. lol.
JJ from Hitz.fm was the emcee that morning. I could hear him speaking early in the morning when we were walking to Padang Merbok. His voice is pretty easy to recognise. #justsaying

Before the run was flagged off, I managed to go around the place to snap some pictures, while Chapree stayed and did some warm-ups.

There was literally thousands of runners in red/orange anticipating for the start of the run. From what I observed, the participants consisted of mostly youngsters, teenagers and secondary school kids. There were also veterans and family runners! :)
In contrast to what most must have believed, there were a lot of girl runners too! So many that Chapree kept reminding me to stay calm and focus during the run LOL.

This was taken seconds after the start of the run. Everyone was so enthusiastic and energetic!
Meanwhile, at Padang Merbok…

Well, it’s understandable since there’s over ten thousand people running. lol.
We started off really well. I kept my pace with Chapree’s and went over 6 kilometres before I zoomed off to finish the remaining kilos. It was a beautiful morning with so many runners running Kuala Lumpur and thank God the weather was pretty good too.

We ran from Padang Merbok, around Taman Tasik Perdana, towards Jalan Tun Sambathan, before going up to Lebuhraya Mahameru and then turning back to Padang Merbok. I was grateful to have a running buddy. It’s always nice to have someone you know running with you. Companionship keeps you going.

That morning we painted the city orange. There was this funny scene at Jalan Tun Sambathan. When I was running past that street, I could see the buses being stranded there because the road was closed; and I overheard one of the bus driver’s conversation while I was running past him. “Ramai orang baju merah tengah lari,” he said on the phone. He must be explaining to his boss about the road closure at KL Sentral.
Another factor that made the run interesting were the performances along the route. There were performers performing using traditional music instruments at a few bus stops. Some runners even stopped to take pictures with the performers :)

Don’t get me wrong – I did not ‘walk the run’. I actually ran, but when I saw something interesting that I wanted to capture, I slowed down for a few seconds just to get the shot before I continue running.
I was holding a Nikon compact camera with me. No way was I gonna hold a bulky DSLR while running 10K, right? That’s kinda crazy but there was actually people who did that!

TO THE PARLIAMENT!!!
In long runs like this, it is important that one keeps his composure and be consistent with his running pace. For me, I kept my pace low and consistent over the first six kilometres with Chapree before I started running faster towards the end. Imagine that if I were to have started the run with faster pace, I would have been knocked out by the time I reach 4-5 kilometres for sure.

Final stretch, let’s go!
Because let’s face it, I’m new in running long distance and I don’t run very often apart from during my futsal games. So, during my last few kilometres which I actually increased my pace, it was actually quite tiring but I kept on going at consistent pace until I finally see 800m….600m….300m….
You know, when you see road signs telling you ‘Hey look you’re x hundred metres away from the finishing line!’ you just get really motivated to finish it quick. If it never happened to you, it’s okay, at least it happened to me.
In my last few hundred metres, I started sprinting like I was running home. At that moment, my limbs felt light and all I wanted to do was to finish the run like a boss, which I did. And it felt great to take over those who were still taking their sweet time to the finishing line. lol.
Managed to slow down to snap this picture before I went across the finishing line.
10K finishers were given a bottle of mineral water, a banana, and a finisher’s gift each. This year’s finisher’s gift is a cute little keychain like model of Nike LunarGlide 3.

Anddddddddddddd this cute little thing is actually a 1GB thumb drive!!

Looks so cute, rightttttttt haha!
We Run KL isn’t just about running KL. Nike Malaysia also prepared other awesome stuffs for the participants such as the photo booth, where the runners could have their pictures taken and uploaded to Facebook directly!

Snap here…

Then upload here!
You gotta admit that it’s pretty cool. Also, Nike Malaysia invited Mizz Nina and Joe Flizzow to perform for the exhausted runners.

Mizz Nina took the stage shortly after I finished my run.

Followed by Joe Flizzow’s performance.

10K finishers enjoying the shows

I had the VIP privilege that morning all thanks to Chapree and well, what can I say but I totally didn’t see it coming.

The best part of having the VIP tag is the FOOD! And I guess that’s about it. lol.

FOOD FOOD FOOD and a bit of teh tarik which I didn’t fancy gulping after a long, tiring run.
Oh, after the run, I met my primary school friend, Yenshen, too!

Never have I thought that I might bump into any of my hometown friends. Haha! It was good to see you there bro :D
Speaking about inspirations, there was this guy who have always been running in his sarung. To some it might seem ridiculous, but I don’t think he’s crazy. I think he wants to be different and he is different. I didn’t ask him why he ran in sarung though, just said hi and took a picture with him. Haha!

He’s awesome alright! :)
So, after that Chapree and I hung around the field before leaving the place. It was such a fantastic run and such a great event by Nike Malaysia. I’ll surely sign up for Nike We Run KL 2012 if there’s one!
It’s my city. I ran it. Once. Run it again, I MUST!
Not exactly my city ‘cos I still love Kuala Terengganu my hometown tercinta but well… you get my drift :P
Before I forget, there’s this cute girl who was interviewed by the media after the 10K run. She looked very familiar but I just couldn’t tell who she is.

Do you who she is? :)
Nike We Run KL 10K 2011 Race Pack Collection

When I missed out on the first Nike We Run KL 10K last year, I made a promise to myself that I must join the next one if there’s ever gonna be one. Finally, Nike We Run KL 10K is back! And I’ve just collected my race pack earlier this afternoon at the Nike We Run KL road show in Midvalley.
I must say Nike is really generous. Following are the items provided in the race pack:

Clockwise from top left: Nike bottle, Nike We Run KL running shirt, information brochure, D-tag.
I totally did not see the Nike bottle coming, and the running shirt’s colour matches with my Nike LunarFly+ running shoes pretty well. Haha! I’m so excited!
LET’S RUN KL!! :D
Fire at Cyberia Smarthomes
CYBERJAYA, JAN 20 – A fire burnt down an apartment…..unit of Cyberia Smarthomes at around 2am this morning. The fire caused hoo-hah among young residents who are mainly students of Multimedia University and Limkokwing University.
At the time of burning, time of arrival of fire engine, and time of people screaming and shouting and cheering, I was not available therefore I was not able to describe what exactly happened at the fire scene.
However, due to quick response and awesome video making passion of a friend of mine, Ken Loo, who is the founder and CEO of Ken Media Studio, you sleep-pigs who were snoring out loud when the fire happened are blessed for an opportunity to see what actually happened last night.
Also, notice how steady the firemen were in the video. They must have known that it would never bring down the whole apartment.
Click here to view it on Youtube.
TL;DR version: A fire destroyed an apartment unit at the Cyberia Smarthomes (block B1).
We now know that the fire brigade near the exit of Cyberjaya isn’t there for nothing.
We Give Free Dot Com’s!
Many of you should have known about DiGi Free Your Ideas which has been running since the past 5-6 weeks. One day, I sat down quietly in front my laptop and started thinking – how do I make DiGi RM 10k poorer for the benefits of the public.
It didn’t take me days to know what I want to do.
I enjoy blogging, even though it doesn’t earn me thousands or even hundreds of Ringgits every month. Sometimes life is just too hectic that I neglect it, but that doesn’t mean I’m ditching it. I’m still on it; because I believe that I need a platform to express myself, in terms of thoughts and rants, as well as to keep myself connected to my friends.
Blogging is a kind of freedom one can enjoy – though when it comes to so-called sensitive issues, you might wanna keep it to yourself. However, I truly believe that having a strong presence on-line is something significant for a little humble blogger, like me. It is a kind of satisfaction you get – seeing your name dot com. It feels… awesome.
Hence, I decided to give free domain names. I knew how it felt when I purchased stevensh.com couple of years ago, so I want to share this feeling with my fellow Malaysians. I grouped up with my friends and submitted our entry last week.

We’re currently at spot #20 and we haven’t been spamming a lot actually. If we win this thing, we will be giving away domain names with the RM 10,000 from DiGi.
So, if you want a free domain name, if you want to be one of the new domain name owners, if you want to have stronger online presence with a dot com of your own, if you believe in us and if you support our idea – please do vote for us.
Voting can be done in few simple steps:
Step 1:
After logging into your Facebook account, head on to DiGi Youths (www.facebook.com/DiGiYouths) and click the LIKE button.

Step 2:
Then, check out our idea at http://goo.gl/GRWmW. Scroll down and click on the VOTE button at the bottom of the page. Just a reminder to virgin voters, you gotta allow the DiGi FreeYourIdeas application before viewing and voting for us.
Step 3:
That’s all! :) Sorry to disappoint; were you expecting more steps? :P
A plead to bloggers out there: please do vote for us and let DiGi pays for your new dot com! We promise A LOT A LOT A LOT of domain names for YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU and YOU!
Well, just to name a few :D
Steven’s Expressions Needs Your Favour
No matter if you’re a new or returning visitor to this humble blog of mine, I surely hope you’re enjoying your stay.
The blog posts might not contain images of delicious foods like vkeong’s, humorous posts like kenwooi’s or latest tech information like LiewCF’s, but to be truthful to you I’m glad you’re here (or you might have been abducted by Google search engine here, I don’t really know).
Let’s face it, who doesn’t like traffic, right?
Now, I’m pleading for your favour. No donations needed, because I know it’s not worth it for this pity blog – but if you’ve benefited from this blog, or plainly you like any of my blog posts, or maybe you won’t mind the little trouble to help out this young blogger wannabe, I hope you can help me out on this one.
I’m in a Facebook contest (please don’t hit the close button yet) where the most person with most likes on their image win a weekly prize. They’re giving out a free Crumpler bag this week (which obviously explains my desperation lol) and I’m so in need of a bag to go to college now :P
So, what I need you to do is very simple – in three really easy steps and within a minute (depending on your Internet connection):
1. Head over to the Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) Malaysia page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/mymsp) and LIKE it.

2. Then, click LIKE on my image (http://goo.gl/DcBgP)
3. (Optional) Share the image to your pals on Facebook to garner more likes.
Do leave a comment there, I’d love to thank you in person =)
Let’s just take this favour from you as a donation to steventsh.com and I hope you won’t mind helping out a university student to get a bag lol.
Though I seriously really do not have a proper school bag.

Because I was the lucky 100th visitor to register on Imagine Cup 2011 website at the event today.
On the other hand, Let’s Freeze by IET at MMU Cyberjaya campus Central Plaza was quite a hit too, with over 100 participants.

DiGi iPhone 4 Life
This is the forth and last post for DiGi iPhone 4 The Win contest that has been going on since last week.
How can an Apple iPhone 4 be related to my life? Since the post title is DiGi iPhone 4 Life. To me, Apple iPhone 4 is more than just a phone. It’s a gadget that can do more than just making and receiving calls and text messages.
As a matter of fact, everyone knows iPhone can also be a music player, a video recorder, a portable gaming device, a news reader, an Internet surfing device, and the list goes on. With all the apps in the world of iTunes store, you can find almost any apps that could change your life!
Anyway, speaking about the ultimate functions and features of the Apple iPhone 4, I can’t help but to recall the spoof Apple iPhone commercial that emerged in Youtube a couple of years ago – which really made me lol.
I hope it made your day. And before I sign off…

LOLOL Retina display is awesome alright!
DiGi iPhone 4 Real
The first thing that caught my eyes was ‘RM 58 monthly fee’.
Paying only RM 58 a month for a RM 88 plan and a discounted price of Apple iPhone 4 16GB at RM 1,490. To tell the truth, RM 1,490 isn’t a small amount, but the fact that we’re actually saving RM 800 for it by signing up for iDiGi 88 plan is quite good a deal, no?
The main thing I like about DiGi’s iDiGi plans is the low monthly fee and it has to offer, secondly, the internet data part (no spoilers here, read on to know more!).
The iDiGi 88 plan is perfect for a poor yet Apple-loving student like me. The reason being, the monthly fee is just RM 58.
Even with my current post-paid plan, my dad has to pay over hundred Ringgit a month just for my bill – most of the time it’s more or less RM 80 usage plus some other fees, which doesn’t sound cool, because, let’s face it: it doesn’t come with an Apple iPhone! :P
The iDiGi 88 plan comes with 200 minutes of FREE talk time, 200 FREE SMS, 20 FREE MMS (so human still do MMS huh?), and most importantly, FREE 1GB of INTERNET DATA.
The best part is: all the FREE talk time, SMSes and MMSes are valid to all local networks.

And even better part (Yes, too many best parts lah duh!): Internet will still be FREE even though you’ve exceeded your monthly 1GB quota – with a condition that you’ll only be getting Internet data speed of 128Kbps, slower but I bet you can tweet and go on Facebook for iPhone without a problem.

It is as awesome as the Apple iPhone 4. :D
DiGi iPhone 4 Play
Low was arguing with me the other day whether Apple iPhone is superior than all other phones out there. He doesn’t really like iPhone for the fact that ‘without the apps, iPhone is nothing’.
What he said actually make sense. I believe the fundamental fun of Apple iPhone is that there are tonnes of apps on the internet or iTunes where you can choose from. From weather tools to social media updaters to games apps, there’s almost everything. All thanks to the awesome iOS operating system of iPhone (also iPod Touch).

Perfect catchphrase. [Source]
I do not own an Apple iPhone so I have checked out some apps on Apple.com where thousands of apps are hosted. To be honest, with so many interesting iPhone apps out there, it’s really hard to just pick one to talk about. There are too many favourites! :D
So, let me talk a bit on my favourite Apple iPhone app.
I’m an I.T. degree student and I’m currently based not in my hometown. Which means, I don’t have anybody to prepare food for myself (read: my mom. lol) but myself or the restaurants.
So, picking up a skill or two in cooking is proven to be very helpful – at least I don’t have to keep eating the same crap for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
With this awesome iPhone app, I can learn to prepare food in just 20 minutes! I think 20 minutes sound familiar, no? Yes, it’s the 20 Minute Meals – Jamie Oliver app by Zolmo.
20 Minute Meals – Jamie Oliver is said to be ‘the daddy of all food apps’ by The Observer. It also mentioned that it’s better than a cookbook for ‘relative newcomers and those unable to put knife to onion’. Omg that’s so me lol!
With this app, I’ll be able to learn to cook the right way, or at least it’ll be good practise for me. If you check out my blog’s archives, a couple of weeks ago I posted an entry about preparing spaghetti when I was back in my hometown. I got guidance from my eldest sister and my mom on two separate cookacions (cooking occasions, hence..geez sounds so wrong!).

Jamie Oliver’s 20 Minute Meals [Source]
Both took longer than 20 minutes I swear. So, if what the app title suggests is true, then preparing myself lunch and dinner won’t be as tough anymore.
In fact, with over 60 brand new recipes (well according to Mr Jamie O himself), and with each recipe broken down into simple step-by-step photos as tutorials, I believe this app will hardly bore my appetite for food.

Hmm.. So what’s for lunch today? Fish or tuna? [Source]
For only $7.99, 20 Minute Meals also contains 21 exclusive videos of Jamie Oliver with useful tips and kitchen skills as well as shopping lists for each recipes to make your shopping trips always a quick one.
One more thing is that I don’t have an internet connection to have the app working. Which means, once installed, I can view the recipes offline! Imagine having to have Wi-Fi in order to cook. =\

The recipe [Source]
Sounds awesome, no? Too good to be true? Well, I don’t trust things that easily but this app is the winner of Apple Design Awards 2010, which makes me even convinced that it’s one cool app that should definitely be installed in my Apple iPhone 4 (well, only if I have one lol).

Image of supposedly end product. Damn, it’s so mouth-watering! [Source]
Who knows with Jamie Oliver 20 Minute Meals I can transform my spaghetti from this:
…to this:
:D :D :D
That’d be freaking awesome alright! ;)
And this app certainly makes my stomach growls as I prepare this entry.
Of course there are plenty of other apps I’d love to have.
The Real Racing game by Firemint and the sex performance measuring app called Passion by Chris Alvares are just as awesome.
Now I wish the title is DiGi iPhone 4 Top 10 Play LOL.
DiGi iPhone 4 Me
Following the launch of DiGi iPhone 4, the telco has actually making the Nuffnang bloggers all go wild because they’re bloody giving away FREE iPhone to a lucky blogger! It’s just too damn awesome, isn’t it? And being one of many so called bloggers, I’d of course wanna try my luck too by participating.
Seriously, Apple has started giving the people sleepless nights since they’ve rolled out the first version of iPhone. And the world started to be so into this devilish gadget.
Steve Jobs is damn awesome.
Anyway, here are five reasons why I want an iPhone 4 from DiGi.
1. I Am Greedy And I Want A New Phone
Despite having the number 4 in its name, that doesn’t make it any less interesting a gadget to own. Mind you, number 4 isn’t a favourite digit among Chinese because it sounds similar as the word ‘die’ in Mandarin – which is why you see 3A and 13A buttons in lifts apartments or office buildings.
So $%@! that #4, I want an iPhone 4 because I wanna ditch my 3-year-old Nokia 1200 already. It’s not that it hasn’t serve me well – in fact, it was the best phone I’ve had so far, minus the fact that it doesn’t have a colour screen, it doesn’t have a touch screen, it doesn’t have a camera, just to name a few.
The bottom line is, my current phone doesn’t have anything but the perfect function to call and to text.
Entertainment wise, it has this sad Pocket Carrom that only sad people like me play before bed. :(
That’s nothing you said??
Dude, people are playing it in 3D already, okay?

I know, I know, I’m good whiner, rite? Well, c’mon who doesn’t want to be stuffed with cool stuff especially when it’s FREE?! Even one who owns an iPhone 3GS would participate in line for a free iPhone 4 from DiGi because…
…face it, it’s natural.
2. I Want To Be Happy (And I’m also envious and kiasu)
Look, the iPhone 4 is awesome. Like, super duper awesome. It’s cool, it’s amazing, it’s fantastic, it’s awesome. It has fabulous functions, fawesome features, and amazing apps. People around me have been revolutionised themselves for the past years.
I mean, of course they don’t get their brain memory or brain processing power upgraded and sorts, what I’m trying to say is that people have started showing off their latest Apple iPhone since it was first rolled out.
I also want.
I read the news, I read the blogs, and I read about all those hypes and excitements and rumours of the release of Apple iPhone 4 in Malaysia even months before its actual release day. The launch were crowded by people who wanted to be among the first to own Apple iPhone 4.
So I thought, ‘Fish you, I want it too! :@’ I don’t want to be the first 100, first 300 or neither do I wanna be among the first 1000 owners – I just want one lol.

Even this baby gets to play with an Apple iPad. Lucky baby. [Source]
But then again, who am I but a student from average income family who’s lucky enough to already be in pursue of a degree in a private university. Tuition fees always come first before everything else. You can’t expect me to spend my study loan for an iPhone 4, rite? Or maybe…
Noooo… Must… Resist… Tem…pta…tion…
Alright the thing is I’m envious, I’m jealous and I feel so left out without an Apple iPhone 4. I want one because I wanna be able to show it off to the world (minus the snatch thieves), I wanna be part of the current trend, and I wanna be among the cool kids who own cool gadgets (well, in this case it’s just one – that’s the Apple iPhone 4).
Seriously, I sound so despo, donch I? But I believe the ultimate ingredient to a great life, apart from sex, is to be happy!
3. I Am As Playful As A Cat
That is stupid simile. I’m never a cat. I’m a dragon.
And I love games as much as Barney Stinson loves women, and as much as Tiger Woods loves vaginas. I watched the Apple’s recent special event, which was when the new Apple iPod 4th generation was announced, and I was amazed by the new Game Center that has been included in iOS 4.
The demo by the Mr Mike Capps, the president of Epic Games, was super awesome. Never have I thought playing a game on an Apple iPhone can be as surreal as playing it on a console!
That’s just truly amazing.
With Apple iPhone 4, I don’t have to spend on a console like Nintendo Wii, nor will I have to spend on a Sony PSP – simply because iPhone 4 is all it takes to keep me entertained. Sometimes, blogging all day and night can be boring alright, so we bloggers need gadgets for entertainments too! =)
Apart from entertainment, Apple iPhone 4 is a tool of convenience. Updating my Twitter account, checking what’s up on Facebook, getting updates of live football match scores – just to name a few – are all easily done from your palm, with an iPhone on it of course. Who doesn’t want such convenience? It’s crazy.
It’s insane to realise how technology has made me so lazy. Or is it my laziness that’s having me crazing for an Apple iPhone 4? *rolles eyes*
4. I Am A Self-Conscious Person
What Elkind said is true. Adolescent like me are self-conscious and we sometimes do feel as if there’s imaginary audience.
I have been watching too much Gossip Girl I think, but deep inside me, I know that I’m somewhat a self-conscious person. I have heavy egocentrism. I enjoy attention.
With an Apple iPhone 4, I’d be getting more attention than usual. Imagine this, I sit in a bus or LRT while playing with my iPhone. Then when there’s a call, I flip out the iPhone and tap on the screen to answer.
While having mocha latte at Starbucks, someone calls on FaceTime! So I answer and chat with my pal over FaceTime. ‘Oh this song is so boring,’ so I take out my iPhone and start browsing through the music list by scrolling the list using my finger. And the person sitting next to me would be amazed.
Or maybe if he owns one he might flip it out and request for a battle on Game Center – now that’s even cooler!
My point is, with such a cool gadget like Apple iPhone 4, I’m more of a confident person – I don’t have to go to the corner to answer phone calls anymore because I haz an iPhone dudeee!

No, I don’t mind the antennagate problem. It doesn’t bother me at all lol. [Source]
5. It Is A Gift
This one probably cancels out all the above reasons.
I fancy Apple iPhone 4 a lot. In fact, I fancy most of Apple’s products but that certainly doesn’t make a fanboi because I never have the ability to afford any of their products. 2k for a gadget is way out of budget, and I’m lucky enough my dad is willing to pay over 2k for the DSLR I’m using. (by installment, mind you.) Not to brag that I’m rich enough for a DSLR but the thing is: 2k for a shared item and 2k for a personal item makes a helluva difference.
Because things aren’t cheap and cash isn’t easy to earn.
My girlfriend fancies Apple iPhone 4 a lot too. In fact, I know she wants it more than I do, but same ol’ story – she can’t bloody afford it. She gets all excited whenever we started chatting about Apple stuff, particularly the Apple iPhone.
Some friends around her have been using it for some time. Some even bought the iPhone 4 from Singapore already. You see, being someone insensitive is not easy, because the time you wanna act sensitive, you’re afraid that you might overact it.
I showed her this page on Nuffnang and she said yeah, she saw it already on Sam’s blog. I told her, I’mma try my luck and if I get real lucky, it’s gonna be hers.
I kid you not.
But I know there’s nothing to be thrilled about, because the chance is one in a million.
The ultimate ingredient of a great life is being happy. I choose DiGi Apple iPhone 4 over Cadbury for happiness.
Spaghetti Craze
I was back to hometown for a couple of days and made some simple spaghetti. I didn’t totally do it alone though, my elder sis and mom did help out. Here are some pictures from my second attempt.
The ingredients.

Bought Prego pasta and the spaghetti from Astaka.

And proceeded with minced pork and sausages.

Boiling of the spaghetti took some time actually.

The pasta was prepared on the neighbouring stove while the spaghetti was being boiled.

Prego pasta + sausages + minced pork. Nothing special I know – that’s because it’s beginner’s lesson lol.
And.. voila!

Apart from practising to make the taste closer to perfection, I think I need to learn to decorate it to make it more presentable. Agreeable?
Shall try again after my final exam. Meanwhile, will be busy studying for finals and won’t have time to update here. Final exam starts on Sept 22nd till 24th, and one last paper on October 1st – just a few days before Eunice is back. :D
Anyway, do wish me loads of luck. I apologise for the lacklustre images in this post. Happy Malaysia Day!
What I Did In Terengganu Sneak Peek
During my four-day stay back in my hometown, apart from screwing up the desktop operating system, I managed to learn something new.

Stay tuned for more spaghetti craze update :P
And an advance Selamat Hari Raya to all Malaysians =D
(500) Days Of Eunice
I stumbled upon a stranger’s blog today and noticed the counter of total number of days since the blogger started her current relationship.
What a show-off, I thought. Then came the irony, due to my curiousity.
I googled for date duration calculator and filled in the dates. We started off on April 18 last year and today’s date is August 30th, 2010. And I was kinda surprised by the result.
Because including the first day and today, we have been together for 500 days. Five hundred days. Read: FIVE. Hundred. Days.
Okay I know it’s 500 days not 500 years so no big fuss? No! 500 is big! Lol.

“I, like God, do not play with dice and I don’t believe in coincidences,” as I quote V of V For Vendetta (2006). 500 is a significant number, and I believe it’s never a coincidence.
Okay, it appears that now I’m the one showing off, but I bet somebody’s gonna go check out how long have they been in their current relationship. Lol. You can do the same too at the date duration calculator.
Oh before I sign off, Happy 500 days being together, sweetheart :D
The (Fun)tasy Camp
It has been about three weeks since the camp ended and my yellow shirt still stinks.

However, it smells nostalgic.
For almost the whole trimester, we have been working our arses out for this thing. Of course not just the camp, we had quite a few events that made the Orientation Series Events (OSE). It’s an annual thing. The Chinese Language Society organises the OSE annually to welcome new students and to assist them in getting used to university life.
Alex was the director of the camp division while his assistant was yours truly. Now say hi to Alex.

Not a perfect picture to introduce someone. Anyway, that’s him teaching recreational dance to the campers during our camp.
It was a place called Sungai Tekala in Semenyih that we stayed for three days and two nights. Not very much a wonderful place but never mind because we had wonderful people there – the participants.

That’s the camp site. Not a bad one, minus the armies of fire ants and the absence of lights at night.
We had lotsa fun games and activities for the participants throughout the 3D2N albeit some were very tiring. This post includes plenty of images taken during the games and activities.
BTW, some images here weren’t uploaded to Facebook, so remember, you see these here first. Lol. Special thanks to Khai Sheng and Kenn the photographers who captures the cheers and colours selflessly throughout the 3D2N.

Water war in freezing water was awesome. I guess everyone had their share of fun.

So fun even the committee members can’t help but to join the fun.

They enjoyed playing with the water, splashing on each other, when preparing the water balloons for the games.

Some other games involved passing tiny items using their mouth where possibility of getting almost-kissing-shots are way higher than me scoring A in English.

While losers were allowed to put some colours onto their opponents body or face.

What a way to show their level of creativity.
One of the ultimate games is the Kung Fu Treasure Hunt and the Detective Game. Both were carried out on first and second night respectively.

Tiny booklets we created as a token used in the Kung Fu Treasure Hunt.
And before I forget, since we have divided the participants into groups of Kung Fu clans, here we have the flags that they have created for their clan.

What more can I say. I personally have not expected such beautiful stuff from them. Awesome work.
Following are some pictures our photographer have taken throughout the camp.

The Best Male Camper Award winner. Err.. The left one, not the other.

The group that finished last were to wash the dishes. lol

Milo: Our unofficial drink for breakfast, tea time and supper – but we weren’t sponsored.
Some funny and playful committee.

The girl in red is Nelly.

While the black coloured shirt guy is Kenneth.
Some other committee who had made this camp possible.

Not forgetting one of our photographers, Kenn.

The camp committee.

And…

Everyone else who were there.
See you again at 14th OSE! =)
Sneak Peek: Perhentian Island
My skin is darker now, and its coming out slowly. Sunburn hurts.
But I’m lovin’ it. More to come >_<
Blood Donation After Two Years
The last time I donated blood before the recent one was my very first time.
It was at the National Service camp and I just felt like donating even though the process looks scary, just like the needle itself. However, as stupid as it sounds like, I actually created a scene when the needle was poked into my vein, you should see my silly face expression.
A friend of mine recorded it for me. I wanted to keep it as a memory of me donating blood for the first time. Steven being silly at his best.
Anyway, two weeks ago there was a blood donation drive in my university so I thought I had to donate this time around since the last time I did it was (365 times 2) days ago; and so I did, with some classmates.

Matt and Chun Ann: the ghey partners
With the tiny red booklet in hand, I proudly stepped into the hall and filled up the forms before going through the standard processes of checking my blood prior to donating blood.

My second time! ^^v
The nurses were quite friendly. We even cracked jokes as our warm blood flowed through the fine tube from our veins into the rubber packet. Before we realised, it was done in not even fifteen minutes.
In the end, I was left with this minute incision on my arm.

And I was rewarded with a certificate of appreciation and some goodies.

Also, I brought home a hamper worth RM50 courtesy of the National Blood Bank.
Yes, no, your head.
If can get a hamper each time I donate blood then I every three months confirm visit hospital on time okay.
One What?
You don’t often..

..get the chance..

..like,

..an opportunity..

..of a lifetime..

..or perhaps..

..by any rare coincidence..

..to have..

..the privilege..
..of..

..being with someone special..
..for a rather long moment.
I know I should be studying now, but as busy as I can be, I never forget important things like dedicating a post for us.

Happy 1Year, baby.
(hmm.. sounds familiar? =P)
Stuck at Energizer Night Race
The day Peter Schmeichel made an appearance in Midvalley was also the day the Energizer Night Race was organised in Cyberjaya. For your information, Energizer Night Race wasn’t a Mat Rempit event. It was a marathon organised by Pacesetters Athletic Club Malaysia and sponsored by Energizer, Schick, Adidas and maybe other big name companies.
After coming back from KL, my friends and I were on our way to Seri Kembangan for dinner when we decided to stopped by the roadside and shoot some pictures of the participants of the race. Well, little did we know that our supposedly short pause turned out to be a rather long one.

The car broke down.
Just as we hopped onto the cute little Kelisa of Perodua after shooting some pictures, its engine failed to start. Tough luck – the car’s battery kaputted. So, we had to anticipate for more than an hour before our friend finally arrived to rescue us.

We left for dinner at about 8pm; got stuck for more than an hour at the roadside because kepoci want to take pictures; and finally went for dinner after Proton Saga came to the rescue; we ended up arriving home after 11pm. More than three hours of trip for dinner. How awesome!

But it wasn’t that wasteful a trip. We took a lot of shots and got some really nice ones, and although it was hot, we had our fair share of ‘fun’ too. Lol.

You see, running is a fun thing to do. I personally enjoy running because it’s in fact a healthy yet easy thing to do. Only thing I regret is that I haven’t been running a lot and my belly’s getting rounder these days.
When people run a marathon and out of nowhere there’s a photographer snapping away their pictures as they run, their reactions vary from one to another.
During the race, I realised that most of the runners enjoyed being shot. So much that they even showed us fingers – like the ‘L’ sign.

Geez. Did he mean ‘Loser’? Lol. Perhaps it’s just his trademark sign. And oh, by the way, the funny guy in Doraemon sweater behind the runner is my friend. Just can’t resist to be in the frame too.
Some runners were plain serious runners. Especially those of the elders.

Older = More experience = Mature = Serious face. As far as football/futsal is serious business to me, running appears to be serious business to the unker too. =)
And then we have some who concentrated 110% in running while showing their…

SIX PACKS.
Awesome isn’t it?? Irresistible even for the gays. Alright girls, you can stop drooling liao.
On another note, some runners were so friendly they smiled while posing for the camera.

You see the je je.. Damn bersemangat one.
And I spotted this leng chai gor gor running with his tired-like-hell face.

Who looked really familiar when I reviewed the images. Well, apparently it was Jason of Smashpop.net. What a coincidence but too bad the image isn’t well-focused.
There are more images but I just picked a few presentable ones. BTW, all images were captured using my senior’s Canon 450D with kit lens and Nissin I-don’t-know-what-model flashgun. My friend and I kept shooting until the flashgun ran out of battery. I believe that clearly shows how long the wait was.

All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience after all for I managed to learn some tricks while shooting in very little light condition.
And I’m Not Over With 2009 Yet!
The year 2009 waas the year I entered university. You know, if it happened in like 30-40 years ago, it would have been the talk of the town.
“Eh, lu zai boh? tu Ah Seng eh kia jip tua oohk lo.. Jin gao le!”
“Si meh si meh? Waa.. Anneh gao ar.. Jin ho le.. Tappai tak chek liao eh ki Sinkarpoh zho kang jin ho leh!”
Direct-translation:
“Eh you know or not? That Ah Seng’s son went university le! Really smart!”
“Really?? Wow, so smart.. Very good le.. Next time after graduated can go to work in Singapore. Really good le!”
You can find this no where else. Syok sendiri at its best. Anyway, since it was 2009 and enrolling in a university isn’t something big these days. Anyone can study in university. All you need is a few Credits and lotsa money. (the latter obviously comes first)

Throughout my days in Multimedia University, I’ve met plenty of people and made quite a number of new friends. Not to brag or to boast, but I’ve done pretty well academically for my first and second trimesters.
Holding a CGPA of 3.9, I’m currently sitting for the last examination for foundation year before I move on to first year Degree next trimester. I’m sceptical about maintaining my CGPA this trimester, but I guess I’ve done my best for now.
In the same year, I got into a relationship which is still lasting to date. Still going strong, of course, and I can’t ask for more.
Also, I became a part of Rebels futsal team before joining the Rebels Football Club earlier this trimester. Met plenty of people who plays good footy through the process and it’s sad to say I can’t be representing the team in competitions for I’ll be transferring to Cyberjaya campus after next week. Or else there might be a chance for me to shine in the sport I’m most passionate in.

Before I moved from Terengganu last year, I brought along a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor futsal shoes that I bought from the bus station (not genuine, of course) for fifty bucks. And believe it or not, to date, I’m still wearing that very pair of futsal shoes even though they’re almost worn out already. I’ve no choice because I didn’t have the budget to get a pair of new shoes.
In September, I fell in love with the Nike Zoom T-5 futsal shoes. Later, I saw T-7 and instantly I dropped T-5 from my wishlist. However, I just couldn’t find it anywhere. Not in KL, not in Melaka, not in Terengganu, and not even in Perth, which is very, very sad. Maybe I shouldn’t have thought twice when I first saw it at Al-Ikhsan. Damn!

I was admiring the shoes so much I kept talking about it to the people around me – my mom, my close friends, my futsal kakis, yada yada.
I frequented Sunway and Subang Jaya so often that now I know the roads there. And I’ve driven from Malacca to Shah Alam for debate tourney with the guys from debate. It’s like I’m so used to travelling between Malacca and Subang Jaya/KL, it became my third home. Lol.
In May, I travelled to Kluang to visit some relatives, but didn’t stay for long because I was rushing home for holidays. I flew for the first time on an airplane in April, and in August I flew to and fro Kuala Terengganu from Subang Airport via Firefly. That made it three times on the airplane. Oh, I just love to fly.
And guess what? Next week I’m gonna fly back to Terengganu from KL and return to KL from Terengganu a few days after that by flight too. Flight tickets are getting so dirt cheap nowadays you’d really ditch the double-decker Sani Express for AirAsia’s Airbus.

Err.. Seriously, no thanks.
Anyway, I shall update on my 2010 to-do list during my short trimester break next week. Plenty of resolutions in mind now, and I can’t wait for Chinese New Year to come!
Alright now let’s keep the CNY songs rolling. =D
It’s The End of 2009
Reality check, resolutions check. Let’s see if I’ve followed what I said.
In January 21st, I wrote a piece of article entitled ‘Resolutions Resolutions’. It consists of a list of New Year resolutions of mine and my New Year wish list.
The five resolutions I’ve mentioned are:
- to host my own blog
- to study well
- to join a half-marathon
- to get a DSLR
- to travel more.
Out of five, I only succeeded in one, or maybe one and a half. I did not manage to host my own blog, I did not join a half-marathon, I did not buy a DSLR and I do not think I studied really well, even though my results have been.. not bad. However, I did manage to travel some places this year, even though not that much, and even though I didn’t get to go to Phuket Island :P
Let’s have a look at the wish list:
- DSLR
- Adidas futsal shoes
- running shoes
- laptop
- a backpack.
Two checked out of five: laptop and backpack. Not really a backpack, just a travelling bag that resembles backpack. It stores quite plenty of stuff too. Got it for RM 99 from Parkson Melaka Mall.

Okay, now, all shits aside, let’s have a peek at what happened in 2009.
During early of the year, I entered Multimedia University to read Foundation in I.T. course. To date, I’ve finished two trimesters and finals for trimester three will be coming in less than a month’s time. Then, I’ll graduate from foundation studies and proceed to degree level at the Cyberjaya campus where I’ll most probably be doing Info System Engineering.
I joined the Voices Debating Society out of curiosity and I wanted to expose myself more to public speaking. (It can be a good way to train the thickness of your face skin.) Attended two major tourneys and was part of the organising committee of the 1st Malaysia Debate Open.

I flew on an airplane for the first time of my life, courtesy of my dad, for he paid for the ticket. And I went to Tasik Kenyir for sight-viewing and to find out that Nasi Dagang there sucks, and had fun in Pulau Kapas.
In May, Didier Drogba, the Chelsea striker, made the headlines for swearing on TV after Chelsea lost 1-0 to Barcelona, courtesy of Iniesta’s shot – the only shot by Barca in the game, in the Champions League semi-final. Feeling unsatisfied and unjustified, Drogba mocked the referee and started swearing at the camera. The funny part is actually the hip hop remix version some people uploaded to Youtube. You just can’t help to not laugh.

In July 18, Manchester United played the Malaysian XI at Bukit Jalil stadium and I was one of the thousands who watched it live. It was full house. It felt totally awesome to have gotten the chance to watch the Red Devils before my eyes. I shall never forget how Amri Yahya outclassed Van Der Sar and Ben Foster, and how Owen brought the crowd into cheers when he scored his first goal for Man Utd at Bukit Jalil. We managed to catch their open training too.
I had a horrible weekend in August, which I fell so sick I had to go for a blood test a SJMC to check if I was infected with H1N1 virus. Luckily, the result turned out to be negative. All thanks to working hard at KLCC PC Fair. Since then, I feel reluctant to work in PC Fair. I guess fear has got the most of me.

Travelling is in my blood. In September, after doing much ‘homework’, I paid a visit to Cameron Highlands – a place I reckon as the best highlands in Malaysia (Shoo, Genting! Shoo!) It was a nice trip there – perfect weather, picturesque sceneries, chilly air, and whatnot. If you want to escape from busy city life, why not try Cameron rather than Genting. It might be a lil’ further but well, at least you get screaming and yelling noise and more peace.

I went around eating a lot during the last quarter of 2009. One of the most notable eateries I’ve been to is the Tasty Pot Buffet Steamboat at Sunway Mentari. Other than that, I’ve been to Klang early in the morning for Bak Kut Teh, TGI Fridays and Tony Roma’s for dinner.

In late November, we celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday at TGI Fridays and Tony Roma’s, the latter together with her classmate who shares the same birthday. Due to my pure laziness, I haven’t get to quietly sit down and blog on it. Maybe it’ll come later on, after New Year.

In December, I celebrated my birthday at my hometown with my family members. The following weekend, I was invited to Michelle’s birthday in Cheras and she sponsored us to Poppy Garden, KL, as a follow-up of her birthday celebration. That was the first time I’ve been to Poppy.
I’m not telling what am I targetting in year 2010 yet. Will start thinking about it later on because I need to go for class now. Bye Bye 2009.
Thanks for being loyal readers of my blog (if any) and sorry to have disappointed you (if any). Happy New Year to you, to me, and to everybody.
A Long, Horrible Weekend
Small Talk: I wanna go to Redangggggggggggg :(
Who doesn’t like a long weekend, right? Getting more than two days of rest is enough for some to even go up Genting to release their stress, either in the theme park or the casinos.
My recent weekend was exactly the opposite. If a long weekend to you means wonderful then my weekend was nothing more than a disaster.
It all started on Thursday morning when I started working at PC Fair at KLCC. It was a day prior to the actual exhibition day and we were there to help out setting up the booth. Of course we were to be paid for it. I spent almost whole day there, from about ten in the morning until 8pm, but most of the time doing nothing but standing there.
If you think that’s cool, you’re wrong! Carrying stuff, setting up booth and placing the stocks on the racks in huge, stuffy, oven-like hall isn’t fun at all. It was hot and tiring, especially my legs.
The next morning was the first of the fair which lasted for three days (Friday to Sunday). A lot of visitors were there and throughout the three days, Ivan and I worked our arses out selling the products because commission counts into our respective salary too. Which means, the more you sell, the better pay you get.
I managed to sell quite a lot throughout the PC Fair but I can’t be sure how many because I didn’t count the quantity. But the three days went slowly and it was super tiring, again, especially my legs.
Finally, the fair ended. Just as it ended on Sunday night, I started to feel ill. I knew that I was falling sick. So, instead of staying back till midnight helping the others, Ivan and I left for the betterment of my health. However, it turned out to be even worse.
That night I had fever. Not high fever, just normal fever. The next morning when I woke up I felt extremely exhausted with headache and slight fever. And I was supposed to return to Terengganu by bus that night. My body was so worn out that even when I stand up and walk I’ll feel as if my calves are cramping. It was an unimaginable ordeal.
In the afternoon, I went to the clinic on my own and after checking and all, the doctor advised me not to travel back to Terengganu first and if the fever doesn’t get any better by next two days, I must head to hospital for the H1N1 test. Her serious tone sent a chill up my spine, not to mention it was damn cold in her clinic and that already kept me shivering.
It was Tuesday morning when I woke up to slight headache and (I think) just a little bit of fever. Chung flew back from Terengganu that morning. When it was almost noon, I hopped into a cab and headed to Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC). No, of course I didn’t really hopped in. Just literally.
Did a blood test and consulted the doctor. All these were not really necessary since I already got some medicine prescribed by the doctor of the clinic the day before but to make sure that I’m really O.K. and free from virus, my sister and father insisted me to go have a check in the hospital.
Well, the results shown that I’m virus free and the next morning (which means, this morning), I woke up feeling better – without headaches, fever but still with cough. The medical fee for my blood test, consultation and medicine really cost a bomb. But thankfully I should be able to claim back from the insurance company.
On the same day (which also means today), I flew back to Terengganu courtesy of my sister who booked the flight ticket for me the night before. And now I’m typing from home with a little cough, little sore throat, but not headaches and fever.
Lesson learnt: Never overwork yourself or else what you’re gonna pay for when you’re sick is so gonna be more than what you earn :) Guess what? The total amount I spent on both clinic and SJMC is more than that of the price of the flight ticket that allowed me home, which is probably more than my PC Fair salary if summed up.
Last, but not least, I’m happy to be home and be free of whatsoever viruses.
